  • Best Played In: Longer sessions, weekend chunks
  • Worth Your Time? Not For Me

Overview

A beautiful, Fallout-y post-apocalyptic survival and exploration shooter with a neat setting in alternative 1960’s Britain. The shooter elements take a back seat here to survival/stealth/strategy; you’re no supersoldier, so watch out when things get loud.

If that’s your sort of thing, you won’t want to miss this one. Otherwise, skip it.

This kind of thing look familiar?

Time Investment

The story’s short and sweet 15 hour length will be a breath of fresh air to many.

The usual trappings are there; loot an underground area for guns, ammo, items, and hopefully some story objective, romp around to the next spot, talk to some people along the way, dodge gangs of roving killer robots and outlaws, repeat.

Spouse take the kids out of town for the weekend? Fire this one up. Otherwise, you may struggle to stay invested if you can only devote an hour or two a week.

Mental Investment

You’ll want to be dialed in for this one. Think frequent checkpoint restarts every time you alert a patrol and they smoke the shit out of you. Not super conducive to a few substances in the half hour you get to yourself before bed.

Fulfillment

Fulfillment comes from clearing a bunker, coming across a new piece of walloping loot, leveling up, solving a mini-mystery, and progressing the main story.

Final Verdict

Hey, look, it seems like a great game. Just not my kind of thing.
